Beaver dreams become a reality with Bond trip
Last week saw a number of boys’ aspirationsbecome a reality as they set out on no typical day as part of their Air Activities Badge.
The 1st Lumphanan Beaver Colony, which comprises ofSixteenpupils aged 6 to 7, were whisked off after a regular day at school for a very amazingexpedition.
The groupdeparted at 3.15pm last Thurs for an excursion of Bond Offshore Helicopters at Dyce.
Turning up in uniform and charged withdelight, the children, their Colony leaders and parent assistants were warmly received by a member of aircrew and ground staff, who prepared and handled the trip.
After being givenpersonalized ID badges as a keepsake, the visitors were then escorted via the passenger terminal.
The Lumphanan Colony also cherishedseeing the waiting area, and security.
Helicopter safety measures were then highlighted to the youngvisitors.
One of the parent helpers was given the honor of trying on an immersion suit on the latter portion of thevisit, whichbrought ona few giggles among theyouthfulaudience.
The Beavers were then exuberant when upon going into an aircraft hangar, they were askedto sit downinside the cabin and cockpit of a Super Puma AS332.
They eventually left with goodie bags stuffed full of memorabilia.
