
Ethan Hippel from the First Western Vancouver Cub Scout Troop has attained each one of his Sixty three badges in only three years.
Hippel, who has attained badges for everything from snow-boarding to participating in the shoreline cleanup under the Lion's Gate Bridge, had been honoured at a special merit ceremony on April 19 by Scouts Canada and West Vancouver Mayor Michael Smith.
"I really feel completed, and I think later on in life I will look back and smile at what I've done," Hippel said to On the Coast host Stephen Quinn.
Badges for snow-boarding, space exploration
Hippel said that will when he began cub scouts 3 years ago, he recognized there were badges for survival expertise, but was really pleased to learn there were also badges for various other pursuits - including snow-boarding and space exploration.
